Extended, refurbished and altered a Grade II listed building in a conservation area; the Woodleigh Lodge, a former lodge cottage to Woolton Hall, to provide a dwelling suited to modern and contemporary spatial needs within its existing curtilage

The Brief

Clients aspired for an open plan kitchen dining area, with views to the garden and fish pond, and a large bedroom with ensuite facilities, whilst respecting the heritage of the building and natural lighting.

The Solution

  • Extended over 1992 extension to afford a large ensuite bedroom on the first floor whilst relocated the kitchen to the rear room to afford an extended kitchen dining to suit modern living requirements
  • Double height glass extension to the rear draws external view and light into the building

Achievements

  • Sourced similarly approved sandstone, able to dress over 1992 extension with slips whilst incorporating sandstone blocks at higher level.
  • Ground floor and first floor receive large amount of natural lighting.
  • Clients satisfaction
